GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS

III.  RES IPSE
in which, after long Prefatory Remarks, the Actual Guidelines for Submission are revealed

  • Photo, sine qua non.
This Site is about Fresh Guys, yes, but more specifically, it is about Fresh Guys who have amusing photos of themselves on their websites. The subject in question can be as Fresh as all get-up, but if there's no photo, no dice. Look, this ain't no charity.

  • Fakes and Hoaxes
There have been extensive discussions on the FreshForum about various sites which have been deliberately constructed to be Fresh, constructed with a kind of self-conscious effort which might seem to preclude some definitions of Freshness.

Most notably, Super Greg and Curry, two gentlemen who seemed to exude Freshness almost preternaturally, turned out to be the creations of Minneapolis-based advertising agency Fallon McElligott, responsible for many national and international campaigns, including the artful Christopher Reeves Walks spot that won Nuveen Investements permanent real estate in the hearts of all Americans when it showed during the 2000 Superbowl.

Some have made it clear that "Corporate fakeness is not fresh, at least not in my book," however, others have wondered aloud "is freshness FRESHNESS, regardless of its source? i.e., does natural freshness supercede ad agency freshness?" The policy of howfreshisthisguy.com is that this is an open question, and we charge the submitter with the judgement as to whether a site's authenticity (or lack thereof) is a crucial factor in its Freshness.
