I.  INTRODUCTION
 in which the Philosophical Framework is Described

Friends, the Site you are now reading is phrased in the form of a question. This form is quite deliberate; observe how even the boldest statement teeters and equivocates when placed before a question mark! The question mark suggests that the truth of the statement it bounds is unresolved, open. To ask a question indicates a humility towards the subject of inquiry, a humility that in the case of Freshness is entirely warranted.

It is the mission of this Site to sustain a Humble Investigation into the Nature of Freshness. This investigation will be undertaken in two major methodological forms; Abstract Speculation and Direct Observation. Abstract Speculation on the Qualities and Principles of Freshness is taking place elsewhere on this Site (I must heartily thank all respondents to my call for essays, and apologize that I have not yet posted their thought-provoking work). The Method with which we are concerned on this page is that of Direct Observation.
